Princess Sophiya

Here are a few pictures I took today of little Sophiya’s 1st Birthday.  Is she a cutie or what?  These pictures only have a simple color pop and vignette but I’m going to get a little creative with the others and I’ll share them with you on a later post.  I just wanted to give the proud Mama and Papa a quick preview.  It was a great day and she's a living doll.  Happy Birthday Princess Sophiya.   DBL click to see full view.

Chapel in Australia

This picture was one of my first attempts at HDR (High Dynamic Resolution) editing.  I picked this picture for the amazing detail on the print and I knew it would look nice done in HDR.  It’s a fun tool that I think I’m going to really enjoy and hoping to master one day. This picture was taken at a botanical garden in Australia.  Here is the before and after.   Double Click to see the full image.

Winter trip to Australia

We took a trip to Australia about two years ago.  Here are a few prints from our trip.  We loved Australia but we would do a few things differently if we ever get the chance to go again like tour the country by bus. It was really scary driving (or in my case riding) on the opposite side of the street and the steering wheel on the other side of the car.  We had so many near misses. Guess all of my praying paid off because we didn’t get into a car accident while we were there.  Which is in itself a miracle.  You could tell who all the visitors were.  They were the ones that had their side mirrors broken off.   Double click to enlarge images.

Liberty

I love putting a color pop on my pictures but some pictures just scream Sepia.  I thought this one was perfect in Sepia.  I took this pictures over a year ago up in Liberty.  I owe D for all of the posing I make him do.  Oh he loves it, he just doesn't know it yet.  :o )   My older son is next.

Patriotism

Funny story behind this picture. I entered this picture in Hill Air Force Base's 2010 photo contest. The theme was "Patriotism". I was told that the panel cried when they saw this picture and selected it as their Grand Prize winner. Well our Colonel called me up on stage to receive the award and asked me to explain to everyone the story behind this picture. I could have lied but I had to tell the truth... It was a super bright sunny day when I took this picture and my son INSISTED on wearing his Batman sun glasses for the shoot. I said "No way bud, not for this picture, you have to show patriotism". So his face looks patriotic but it's actually his "I want to wear my Batman sunglasses" look!!!! Everyone was laughing their heads off at my story. That's what happens when you tell the truth sometimes. But I have to say my son's room is everything AIR FORCE, ARMY, NAVY, MARINES etc. because he loves our miliatary and so do I!
