The most colorful time of the year

I wanted to post a couple more pictures of this beautiful family. I took these a week or two ago and the leaves are dropping fast now. I LOVE this time of the years. I wish FALL would last as long as WINTER seams to. Which is FOREVER now that I'm no longer a skier.  My youngest loves to snowboard.  I just hope that he is not as crazy as his mother.  I was a daredevil in my younger days.  Ya not so much anymore.  

A new addition

She's here... The Lil Sis and the new addition to their family.  I shot these pictures yesterday so this is just a quick sample. It was a little chilly but their little sweetie didn't mind at all. She was such a little angel.. I love this time of the year for all of the beautiful colors.  Can't wait to show them the rest of the pictures.  They are all so photogenic so it's going to be hard for me to pick my favorites.  I have the "AFTER" and "BEFORE".   So you can see the difference an edit can make.  

Mr. and Mrs.

  I had the pleasure of being the photographer at my beautiful cousin's wedding.  And to my new cousin, Welcome to the family.  This family is priceless to me and will be to you too I'm sure.  She used her grandmother's wedding dress.  The dress is 62 yrs old. I cried all day but told everyone my allergies were acting up.  There was so much love, you could feel it in the air.   This is just a quick edit but I wanted to post a picture of this beautiful couple. Little Darlings

As promised, I had to share a few shots from this Lil Sis session.  I can just see them having tea out in a field in no time.  Hey I might have to try that scene one of these days.  I shot this session on a really cloudy day so we were fortunate to get some really rich colors but it started to sprinkle so I had to work really fast to get a few good shots.  The baby didn't fuss at all she was warm and comfortable.  The big sis was just having fun tending to her lil sis.  My favorite pictures are when they don't even know I'm taking their pictures.  I'm not a "Say Cheese" kinda photographer unless we are actually trying to achieve that "Cheesy" look.   I had so much fun with these two little cuties. 

 

Lil' Flower Girl

I keep saying, "I don't do weddings" but I had so much fun shooting this wedding last month that I might have to reconsider. This little beauty was the flower girl at her Aunt's wedding and I get to take some Newborn Portraits with her  and her new baby sister next week. I CAN'T wait!!  Isn't she gorgeous? I just did a quick edit on this one but had to share just a couple because the bride hasn't seen the rest yet. Looking forward to sharing more of her and her little sis.

Poppies and a picnic

This is utter torture for me!!!!!!! having to pick which pictures to edit on this photo shoot. There are so many perfect ones but I can't edit all 200 + darn. These two are model material. Right? Can't you see them on the front page of Vogue. It was so nice spending time with them yesterday. I love this part of my job. Yes these are real Poppies. Aren't they just gorgeous? Ya and the poppies aren't bad either.

Beauties for Dad's Day

OMGoodness, I have to share some pictures of some gorgeous girls I took pictures of last week. They're so much fun! Had me cracking up and I'm usually all business when I take pictures until I'm done then I can chill and  relax but NOPE not with these gals. We had so much fun the entire time!  I'm looking forward to watching these beauties grow up into beauty young ladies.  I love that part of my job... my returning clients. Being able to see the kiddos grow up right before my very eyes. 

5 Generations of Love

OMGoodness this has NEVER happened to me. I was OK when I was editing these pictures & I thought they came out OK but then when I watched the edited pictures on a slide show with music “Clair De Lune”… I started crying like a baby. I realized how beautiful these pictures really are. Not because of my work or their exterior beauty but the Love between them. FIVE GENERATIONS. Just think about how that baby is going to feel… looking at these printed pictures when she’s a full grown woman and seeing the love between them. Beauties

I took pictures of these two little beauties yesterday. They're gorgeous little girls and make my job so easy. It was so great to see them all again. The "Big Sis" is a returning customer so I have been so fortunate to see her grow up throughout the years. This little sweetie has me laughing out loud and that to me... is priceless. 

Bridals and Blossoms

I think I found my new favorite place to shoot pictures. This place is gorgeous. My husband and I took our Engagement pictures here a long time ago but they didn't have all the beautiful color that they do now. I also have Gift Certificates so if you don't know what you want for Mother's/Father's Day or if you haven't bought their gift yet... this is a perfect gift. I might have to shoot a full day over there. I just did a quick edit on these two pictures but she is stunning.

Creating Works of Art

Some people might not care for the artistic side of Photography and that's perfectly ok with me because actually I sometimes prefer some of my prints to not go through any editing.  Well maybe just a touch of sharpening but some pictures are just better left alone. However, I had to see what I could create with these two.  I’ve loved art for as long as I can remember.  I dabbled in Oil, Acrylic and Watercolors.  This to me is like taking a fairly blank canvas and adding to it until you love what you see.  Yes these pictures are more whimsical but every artist should be able to create the art that they care to create.  I have so many others to get to that it makes it hard to sleep.  It’s after midnight now so I better turn in. Spring has sprung!!!!!!

I love experimenting will my Macro lens.  I took this picture today and the overcast skies were perfect for beautiful and vibrant colors but it was so windy and so hard to get a really sharp picture.  However this little guy came out looking pretty dang good.  I love the little fur coat he’s sporting.  It's so amazing to see these pictures up close and personal and I think that’s why I love Macro photography so much.  To see all of the variations of color from each flower.  It’s like opening up Christmas presents when I upload my pictures and see what surprises I might have.  I took over 600 pictures today so I’m going to make a pot of coffee and edit until my little hearts content.   Edit Party!!!!  

Spring time

 

A couple more pictures from this beautiful couple.  This really was a fun photo shoot and I know I say this often but they are fun.  I love it when my clients have a good time and I try to make it a great memory and experience for them that they will remember for a life time.  Pictures are just that.  Memories of the past and just by looking at them years later, you can see and feel what you did when you took the pictures.  I want that memory to be a happy one for all of my clients.  I think I'm going to play the song "Happy" before every shoot.  How can you hear that song and not dance? 

 

Swept off her feet

One more shot from this Engagement session.  Oh to be swept off my feet again... Oh to be light enough to be swept off my feet again, even better. But I am getting there.  I recently lost my baby weight, almost 20 pounds.  Oh ya, my baby is 9 years old now.  So it took me a little longer than I had hoped for but I did it and boy does it feel great.  Now back to this shot.  I'm not a big fan of clouds for myself but some pictures just look amazing with a little extra pop in the skies. I think this is just that picture.  I love using clouds with kids and youngsters.  Especially when they are in love because for some unknown reason, the skies always look a little prettier when you're in love.  I can feel Spring is in the air.  My favorite time of the year. 

Love is

Now I'm going to date myself... There use to be a carton that was called "Love is"... then you or they would fill in the blank.  I think they were naked.  It's not what you think.  If I remember right, I think they looked a little like the Pillsbury Dough Boy.  But there was also a girl.  It was rated "G".  I promise.  Wow that took me back many moons ago.  Now I'm going to have to Google it and see if I can find some of the old cartoons.   Well this picture is screaming "Love is".  I have always wanted to try this shot and I'm so glad I found the  perfect everything to recreate what I saw in my brain.  There's a little something up there. 

Ahhh Young Love

Is this a gorgeous couple or what?  Hard to believe they've never done any modeling.  I love it when my clients will play along with me and allow me to create what is in my mind.  I promise not to ask you to do anything too crazy or illegal.  But I just love it when I can achieve a certain look or a certain feeling in my portraits.  These two were so open to having fun during this session.  This picture was on the serious side but I can't wait to post some of their wild and crazy shots at a later time.  We sure had a fun time and I wish them all the best in their new journey together.
